Cinderella days, Rockefella nights

Created by Lesley 3 years ago

I met Dawn in 1984, we were both the tender age of 23, at Plessey Peripherals International in Northampton. Dawn was PA to the MD for about 8 years and was affectionately known as 'The Oracle'. There was nothing Dawn did not know. She was a class act.

Once Wilkins (Jacqui) and Elaine (Happy) joined Plessey we made merry on Wednesday night (ugh the Thursday hangovers) and Fridays / Saturdays. We were disco divas. Care of Jacqui we went to loads of live concerts; The Waterboys and Simple Minds at MK bowl are esp memorable.

We laughed so much, and I have sooooooooooooooo many happy memories of that time. At the end of the night, the lights went on and they played Frank Sinatra 'New York, New York' and Dawn would tap dance us out.

I can hear her now singing the Simple Minds chorus:

Don't you, forget about me
Don't, don't, don't, don't
Don't you, forget about me

And you know; we never ever will gorgeous beautiful you.

All love, and much affection Dawn. Thankyou for the fun, friendship and memories.
